Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (or, if you sign in with Google, the name, email, and profile photo Google shares with us). During setup we also ask for your age, grade, city, state, and school, and optionally a phone number — this lets us tailor content and connect you with classmates at your school.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and limited card details (like the card brand and last four digits) for your receipt — we never receive or store your full card number.

Usage and activity data. We record which courses you're enrolled in, which activities and quizzes you complete, your scores and star totals, coins you've collected, and similar in-app progress so the Service can track and display your progress.

Social and community data. If you use Study Buddies or the My School discussion page, we store the buddy connections you make and the content you post.

Pilot program data. If you join our pilot program, we also collect your Venmo username (to send your reward), the friends' emails you submit for referral credit, and your answers to the short pilot survey.

Public page visitors. Our free study pages (practice tests, vocabulary lists, fill-in-the-blank practice, and FRQ practice) can be viewed without an account. We log anonymous page-view and button-click events for these pages — not tied to your name or email — to understand which pages are useful. If you later create an account, this anonymous browsing history is not linked to it.

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. Our free study pages also display advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies on those pages to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. We use the information above to provide and improve the Service — creating and securing your account, processing payments, tracking your progress, powering Study Buddies and My School, sending the $60 pilot reward, responding to messages you send us, and understanding how our free study pages are used so we can make them more helpful.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to do that work:

Supabase hosts our database and authentication. Stripe processes payments. Google provides optional sign-in and serves advertising on our free study pages. Sentry helps us detect and fix crashes and errors — we've configured it not to collect personal information by default.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Apidea, our users, or others.

The Service is intended for high school students and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should be aware of and consent to your use of the Service, consistent with our Terms of Service. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal, security, and record-keeping purposes. Anonymous page-view data from our free study pages is kept in aggregate and is not tied to an individual.

You can review and update most of your account information from your Account page at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, or to ask any question about your information, email us at apideaadvisory@gmail.com and we'll take care of it. You can also opt out of personalized advertising through Google's ad settings linked above.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
